This year Ashland Resort has been blest in so many ways. A record number of guests and returning friends have shared the expanded Hatfield-McCoy Trails in what, for the most part, has been an autumn of splendor. We have been the destination of families, friends, clubs and more. For those of you who shared the grandeur of our mountains, the excitement of our trails, and the camaraderie of our campground, we offer our sincere thanks. Ashland Resort Is Planning to Grow On You Eight new large full service 50 amp RV sites are now under construction on the western side of the campground. If all goes as planned, there will be more full service RV sites plus more Ashland Deluxe Cottages and Ashland Lodges. We are pushing to have them ready for early spring guests. We’ll keep you informed with construction updates. Ashland Resort Snow Policy Dare to experience a winter trail challenge knowing the Ashland Resort Snow policy is in force. See the Area’s History Come to Life While you’re with us this summer, be sure to check out The Terror of the Tug, an outdoor drama based on the local coal mine wars of the early 20th Century. The story centers around the murder of Sid Hatfield and Ed Chambers by private mine detectives on the steps of the McDowell County Courthouse. Shows play on various dates throughout the summer at 8pm at the McArts Amphitheatre located off Rt 52 in Welch. Call 304-585-7959 for details.
